I recently attended a wedding where the happy couple changed things up at the end of the ceremony. I had never seen it done that way before and I actually liked it.
Typically the ceremony ends with the officiant announcing the couple is now "husband and wife" and everyone cheers. The happy couple then walk down the aisle hand-in-hand with the groomsmen and bridesmaids slowly following.
At this wedding the couple remained at the altar and had the groomsmen and bridesmaids leave first. They waited until the entire stage was clean and then they made their exit. It made the wedding end on a really high note because they were the last ones down the aisle and everyone was focussed on them.
It was a little awkward when the couple was waiting on the stage and the bridesmaids and groomsmen left but it was only a matter of a few minutes and I think the pay off was worth it.
When it comes time to plan your ceremony feel free to make it your own and change things up.
